The Aquarium of Genoa
On the occasion of the 25th° anniversary, the Aquarium of Genoa renews itself to confirm its leadership as the largest and most spectacular Aquarium in Italy and in Europe, able to amaze and excite the audience by way of new experiences at every visit. Starting from 23rd March 2016, the Aquarium, by simulating a true research vessel travelling across the seas of the world, presents a completely new path thanks to innovative settings, latest state-of-the-art digital installations, as well as a completely renewed light and sound design. The passengers of this ideal journey are involved as main characters in the core of the life of the ship's crew: a rich daily schedule of speeches - 48 weekly meetings in 6 different areas - allows you to interact with the staff who every day takes care of the animals to discover all the secrets and curiosities of a place where life is constantly renewed. The new route is a further opportunity to discover the seas of the world by admiring up close the 15,000 animals of around 400 species that are kept in the 70 exhibition tanks of the facility.

The Aquarium of Cattolica
The Aquarium of Cattolica is the largest Aquarium of the Adriatic Sea and the second largest in Italy. It presents over 3000 specimens of 400 different species including sharks, penguins, otters, turtles, rays, jellyfish, chameleons and other marine and terrestrial animals, such as the fascinating world of chameleons, snakes, iguanas and arrow frogs. The main characters of the Blue route are the Humboldt penguins and the 11 largest bull sharks in Italy, as well as the Mediterranean and tropical world. The Yellow route leads to the discovery of the creatures that inhabit the waterways, such as the Asian otters, some examples of caiman together with the herbivorous piranhas. The direct interaction with the animals leaves the visitor with a special memory: at the Aquarium of Cattolica it is also possible to caress the pelagic stingrays, with the help of an expert. With the guide of biologists it is further possible to admire the daily phases of the "meals" of sharks, penguins, otters and pelagic stingrays. Among the 2016 innovations, to highlight is the exhibition "Sharks, perfect predators", in the Purple route: an engaging journey to discover these sea predators up close, from the great white shark to the very small pygmy shark. And then continuing in the captivating journey "In the footsteps of the emperor penguins", a playful area that throws the young guests to the South Pole to discover the life of penguins all year round.
